Part of the 11,000-square-foot expansion at North Anderson Baptist Church.North Anderson Baptist Church, Anderson, will dedicate a $1.7 million facilities expansion project on Oct. 4.
The 2 p.m. dedication for 11,000 square feet of new space and 800 square feet of remodeled space will be the capstone of a planning process that began several years ago, according to pastor Bill Rigsby.
Rigsby said the planning first grew out Empowering Kingdom Growth and later through “Thy Kingdom Come,” a planning process for churches offered through the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
“Over the years, God made it clear that he had plans for the site where North Anderson Baptist was planted,” Rigsby said. “We determined that God wanted us to stay on Main Street and minister in his name right where we were started 70 years ago.”
The dedication service will be preceded by a homecoming service at 10:30 as the church celebrates 70 years of ministry. Mack Burriss, former pastor of North Anderson and former missionary, will speak.
