Alvin Reid, professor of evangelism and youth ministry at Southeastern Baptist Seminary, was the featured speaker at the North Greenville Area Crusade held on the North Greenville University campus in August.

“Dr. Reid did an excellent job of connecting with people from area churches as well as with our students. He challenged all of us to live out our faith and share it regularly and freely with others in the marketplace,” said Steve Crouse, NGU vice president for campus ministries. Reid spoke to NGU students in chapel.

The campus ministries staff is following up on 107 decisions made during the crusade. Thirty-one students committed their lives to ministry or missions, 81 rededicated their lives, and 112 committed to share a gospel tract with someone.

In a related story, during nine weeks of Centrifuge and Mission Fuge camps hosted by NGU this summer, 192 students made professions of faith. Another 132 responded to God’s call to ministry. In all, there were 1,065 decisions recorded during the camp weeks. The summer camp program also raised more than $57,000 for missions efforts in Canada and Romania.

“It was fantastic to see Jesus Christ move on our campus this summer and during the crusade in such a powerful way,” said North Greenville president Jimmy Epting. – NGU
