The houses were donated by Hanson Aggregates Southeast, Inc., in Taylors, and were formerly used as office space for their rock quarry.
Renovations were done by NGU maintenance staff and Baptist Builder volunteers from several churches, headed by Andy Ellis of Little River Baptist Church in Honea Path and Dale Whiten of Brookwood Church in Simpsonville.
“We are grateful to Hanson Aggregates for their partnership to recycle these houses for living space,” said Alex Miller, vice president for university advancement. “Our students will be able to enjoy a homelike atmosphere in a university setting because of this generous gift.”
The houses will accommodate 17 students.
