In Myrtle Beach: Forestbrook to celebrate 25 years with November homecoming

The Baptist Courier

Forestbrook Baptist Church, Myrtle Beach, will celebrate its 25th anniversary Nov. 8 with a homecoming service at 10:30 a.m.

The church was a mission of Myrtle Beach First Baptist Church. In 1978, six acres of land was purchased on the corner of Forestbrook and McCormick Road to build a new church. In 1982, land was cleared and volunteers began construction of a 150-seat sanctuary.

On Nov. 14, 1982, the first service in the mission was held. On Nov. 11, 1984, Forestbrook Mission officially became Forestbrook Baptist Church.

In 2001, a new 500-seat sanctuary was completed, and a family life center was completed in 2007.

Former pastors Ken Moore and Wayne Revisky and current pastor Jim Shriver will lead in the homecoming service. An evening service will feature a concert by Holy City. For more information, call 843-457-8490.
