Phil Blackwell

PHIL BLACKWELL retired Nov. 1 as associate pastor of Holly Ridge Baptist Church, Simpsonville, where he had served the past four years. Prior to that, Blackwell was director of Camp Marietta and served in various churches throughout the state. He and his wife Myra will reside in Lexington.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dennis Walker

DENNIS WALKER recently joined the staff at North Anderson Baptist Church as minister of children and adults. A graduate of Southwestern Baptist Seminary, he previously was the principal of a Christian school in North Carolina. His wife Becky is women’s minister in the College of Christian Studies at Anderson University. The Walkers also served as IMB missionaries in the Gaza Strip for five years. They have two children, Maria and Daniel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan Williams

RYAN WILLIAMS has been called as youth minister at North Anderson Baptist Church. A senior at Clemson University who will graduate in December, Williams has served as summer youth minister at North Anderson since June.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jay Fennell

JAY FENNELL began duties Nov. 15 as associate pastor for programming at Lexington Baptist Church. A native of the Columbia area, he is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and earned a master of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in 2004. His wife Erin is the daughter of Edward Carney, senior pastor of Riverland Hills Baptist Church, Irmo. The Fennells have two children – Jack, 5, and Avery, 2, with another baby due in February.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ian Geimer

IAN GEIMER is serving as student pastor at Lexington Baptist Church. He is a 2006 graduate of Liberty University with a bachelor of science degree in religion, specializing in youth ministries. Geimer and his wife Carrie came to Lexington Baptist in May.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Timmy Tyner

TIMMY TYNER recently was called as full-time minister of students by Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church, Landrum. A native of Conway, Tyner is a student at North Greenville University, majoring in Christian studies with a focus in youth ministry.
