Pastor writes sports novel

Bill Taylor, a retired pastor who formerly served in South Carolina, has written a Christian novel, “The Kid,” a sports story. Bobby Richardson, of Sumter, former New York Yankees player, wrote the foreword to Taylor’s book.

Taylor, now living in Wingate, N.C., served churches in South Carolina in the 1950s and early 1960s. His pastorates included Antioch Baptist, Camden; Gum Branch Baptist, Hartsville; and Southside Baptist, Sumter.

Taylor has also written an autobiography, “Growing Up on One Mule.”
