William H. Crews Sr., 75, pastor of Unity Baptist Church, Moore, died Nov. 29, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
His previous South Carolina pastorates included Calvary Baptist Church, Spartanburg, and East Gaffney Baptist Church.
Born Aug. 22, 1934, in Lake Butler, Fla., he taught Bible college and seminary and wrote more than 60 Bible study booklets. He and his wife Freda owned and operated five Christian radio stations from 1972-85. His TV program “The Awakening Hour” airs on 150 U.S. stations and in 170 countries.
Survivors include his wife, three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
