Steve CloudSTEVE CLOUD has been called as interim pastor by First Baptist Church in Taylors. Cloud, who until March had been interim executive director of church vitalization for the South Carolina Baptist Convention, is a former pastor and president of the SCBC. He also is president and chairman of the board for Vision Ventures, and is director of the Pastor’s Coaching Network based in West Columbia. He was convention president in 1993 while serving as senior pastor of Northside Baptist Church in West Columbia. He has been a trustee of Southwestern Baptist Seminary and a member of the SCBC Executive Board. Frank Page recently resigned the Taylors pastorate to assume new duties at the North American Mission Board.
Philip VaughnPHILIP VAUGHN began duties on Sept. 1 as pastor of Little River Baptist Church, Jenkinsville. Prior to that, he served as senior adult pastor at Chapin Baptist Church. Vaughn and his wife Nancye reside in Chapin.
David CarterDAVID CARTER was ordained to the ministry Nov. 22 by Keowee Baptist Church, Honea Path. His grandfather, retired minister Ralph Carter, delivered the ordination message. A graduate of Anderson University, David Carter is currently studying at Southeastern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Ky. While a student at Anderson, he served as associate pastor and youth director at Keowee Baptist. Carter and his wife Laura reside in Elmburg, Ky., where he is pastor of Elmburg Baptist Church.
