Laurens woman pens Bible study

The Baptist Courier

Frankie Sherman, national speaker and Bible teacher for women’s ministry and a member of Laurens First Baptist Church, has published her first Bible study: ‘Why We Need Girlfriends.”

The seven-week study is based on the friendship of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist. The study is being used in numerous churches around the country.

“Most women would trade their designer handbag and stiletto heels for one really good friend,” according to a press release for the book. “Why? Because in every woman’s DNA, God placed a desire for meaningful friendships with others.”

“Why We Need Girlfriends” is written to help participants understand the significance of solid friendships between older Elizabeth-type women and younger Mary-type women.
