Bryan Cribb has joined the faculty of Anderson University as assistant professor of Christian studies.

Cribb holds a B.A. degree in political science and a B.S. degree in mathematics from Furman University. After being called into the ministry, he received his master of divinity in biblical and theological studies and his doctor of philosophy degrees from Southern Seminary. Since receiving his Ph.D., he has been on the faculty of Brewton-Parker College, a Georgia Baptist institution.

Cribb’s most recent publication is “Speaking on the Brink of Sheol: Form and Message of Old Testament Death Stories.” He also assisted Daniel Block in editing a volume of essays entitled “Israel: Ancient Kingdom or Late Invention?” and has presented papers at several venues. In addition, Cribb has written nearly 100 articles for Baptist Press, and he has had articles published in more than 15 state Baptist papers.

“Though my calling is teaching at a Christian college, my passion is the local church,” Cribb said. “I truly believe that these two are, and should be, integrated, for it is through the training of God-called ministers at institutions like Anderson University that the church may be edified and our Lord glorified.”

Cribb and his wife Elizabeth have two sons, Daniel Luther and Josiah John. She is a registered nurse and a stay-at-home mom who also holds a master of divinity degree from Southern.

“Bryan Cribb represents a combination of excellent scholarship and a deep commitment to Christ and to the local church,” said Michael Duduit, dean of Anderson’s College of Christian Studies. – AU
