Sunday school lessons return to Courier

The Baptist Courier

Beginning with our next issue, Sept. 2, The Baptist Courier will reintroduce Sunday school lessons.

The lessons will be based on LifeWay Christian Resources’ two most popular Sunday school series, “Explore the Bible” and “Bible Studies for Life,” and will be authored by respected South Carolina Baptist pastors, Bible teachers and inspirational writers, among others.

Courier editor Don Kirkland said the lessons are designed as a supplementary resource, both for Sunday school teachers as well as for those who attend Sunday school and desire a concise, accessible lesson guide.

He said the Courier’s lessons will not be mere summaries of the LifeWay lessons, but will contain original material designed to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

“South Carolina Baptists are blessed to have excellent teachers and writers in our state,” Kirkland said, “and we look forward to bringing their knowledge and spiritual insight to the pages of the Courier for the benefit of our readers and our churches.”

Writers for the fall quarter will include Michael Duduit, dean of the College of Christian Studies at Anderson University; D.J. Horton, pastor of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church, Moore; and Bucky Rogers, minister to students at Anderson Mill Road.
