I am only a lay person and former deacon and have served on various committees in the churches of which I have been a member. I feel that the pastor should be the spiritual leader of the church. I also feel that he should have input to the deacons and other committees of the church and offer his leadership and opinion. However, just because he is the pastor does not mean that his word is law. The members of the congregation should make the decisions in a democratic, Christian manner.
