Hodges to lead Chester Association

Ted Hodges began duties as the new director of missions for Chester Baptist Association on Sept. 1.

Hodges, 59, had served as pastor of Putman Baptist Church, Buffalo, since 2006. He previously was pastor of Fort Lawn Baptist Church from 1993-2006.

He also previously served churches in Georgia, where he was ordained to the ministry in 1979.

Hodges holds both a bachelor of arts and a master of arts in ministry from Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, Fla., and a doctor of theology from Slidell Baptist Seminary in Slidell, La.

He has served on the South Carolina Baptist Convention Executive Board and on the SCBC nominating committee. He has served as moderator of Chester Association. He has led mission trips to West Virginia, Charleston, Georgia and Kentucky. He currently serves on the ministers advisory board of Charleston Southern University.

Hodges and his wife Dianne, an elementary school teacher, are parents of four and grandparents of three.
