Samuel Jerome McKenzie, 78, of Lake City, died July 16, 2010, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Born in Florence County, he was a graduate of Coker College and Southeastern Seminary.
During his ministry, he served as pastor of Rosehill Baptist Church, Nesmith Baptist Church, Brownsville Baptist Church and Neeses Baptist Church. He also served interim pastorates at Union Crossroads Baptist Church and Olanta Baptist Church, where he was a member.
Survivors include his wife, Bertie Lee Jones McKenzie, two children and two grandchildren.
