Gary R. “Jerry” Harrelson, 70, of Conway, a retired pastor, died July 29, 2010, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
HarrelsonBorn in Robeson County, N.C., he was a graduate of the Baptist College at Charleston and Southeastern Seminary. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Harrelson pastored the following South Carolina churches: Spring Hill Baptist in Cottageville, Salem Baptist in Aynor and Ridgecrest Baptist in Florence. He also served as interim pastor at North Mullins Baptist in Mullins, Cane Branch Baptist and Mt. Vernon Baptist in Loris, and Aynor First Baptist. At his death, he was a member of Juniper Bay Baptist Church in Conway.
He was a member of Graddy Masonic Lodge in Aynor and was a former member of the Aynor Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Vonceil “Bonnie” Martin Harrelson, two children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
