I came up in the days when the Baptist churches used the Broadman Hymnal for singing, and there was a song on page 383 entitled, “He Died of a Broken Heart,” by Thomas Dennis and B.B. McKinney.
In reference to whether the phrase is rightly or wrongly used (“Your Views: Churches lack theology,” Jan. 20), I believe if someone was drawn closer or responded to God’s call, Jesus was smiling.
