Many of you have heard that Joe Mack, director of the SCBC’s office of public policy, retired after 12 years of devoted service to South Carolina Baptists. There are not enough words to express our deep appreciation for his outstanding representation of our convention in the public arena.
Joe’s faithfulness has impacted the morality of our state and beyond. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant,” for the years you have invested in the kingdom of God on behalf of our great convention and the citizens of South Carolina.
The Lord has led to our convention another servant to represent South Carolina Baptists in our state capital. Mark Hendrick has experience in the political arena and is already making an impact with legislators as they contemplate how to vote on gambling, pro-life issues, and other social and moral concerns.
The Christian Life and Public Affairs Committee welcomes Mark Hendrick and, once again, expresses profound indebtedness to Joe Mack for the effective ministry he has led with our elected officials.
