Students receive Sims award

The Baptist Courier

The Baptist Courier presented its 13th annual Horace B. Sims Jr. Award for excellence in the field of Christian studies to North Greenville University seniors Nikki Stillwell and Adam Cooper during the school’s annual awards day on April 18. Cooper also won the Greek Award. Courier editor Don Kirkland makes the presentations to honor the memory of the former South Carolina pastor, state convention president and Courier columnist. “This is the first time we’ve given two awards,” Kirkland said, “but the academic accomplishments of both simply made it impossible to choose between the two of them.” Stillwell is a member of Poplar Springs Church, Moore. Cooper is a member of Standing Springs Church, Simpsonville. Both plan to attend seminary.
