North Greenville University is launching its first doctoral degree program.
The university has received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to begin offering a doctor of ministry (D.Min.) degree with a focus on Great Commission studies.
Doctoral seminars will meet in one-week intensive sessions that focus on discipleship and spiritual formation, evangelism and missions, church growth and revitalization, and Christian leadership. Each of the seminar topics will have corresponding field-based applied ministry experiences.
The first seminar, on discipleship and spiritual formation, will meet Oct. 3-7 and will be taught by Larry McDonald, dean of the graduate school of Christian ministry. The spring seminar on church growth and revitalization will be taught by Ken Hemphill, former president of Southwestern Seminary and founding director of NGU’s Center for Church Planting and Revitalization. The spring seminar will meet Feb. 27-March 2.
Students may apply to the D.Min. program anytime during the academic year. For more information: www.ngu.edu/gradschool.php or 864-877-1598. – NGU
