LifeWay is now redoing its website and offering a $1,000 gift certificate and other giveaways. This will be a big help to a few select people or churches. However, they are requiring a Facebook account. I am very disappointed in them. I contacted them, and they simply told me: “We apologize for any frustration this has caused. LifeWay is offering the $1,000 gift card through Facebook to promote the launch of the new LifeWay.com. Unfortunately, you will need a Facebook account to enter the sweepstakes. We apologize for the inconvenience.” No reasoning, no other options to enter, no real answer.
Since LifeWay is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, I find this to be shocking. They print our Sunday school material, VBS and other materials. Are we all becoming so much like the world that we even start requiring that those we work with join secular organizations such as Facebook? We need to close Facebook and open The Good Book!
