The third annual Preaching University, a three-day continuing-education event for pastors and church leaders, will be held at Anderson University July 26-28.
Among the faculty at this year’s event are: Clint Pressley, senior pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte; Greg Heisler, associate professor of preaching at Southeastern Seminary; Kristopher Barnett, associate dean of the Clamp Graduate School of Christian Ministry at Anderson University; and Chuck Fuller, assistant professor of Christian ministry at Anderson University.
In addition to the pastors who will serve as featured speakers, Bryan Cribb, assistant professor of Christian studies at Anderson University, will lead a series of Bible studies based on Ecclesiastes, the Winter Bible Study book for 2012. Michael Duduit, dean of AU’s College of Christian Studies, serves as coordinator of the annual continuing education event for pastors, which was previously known as Preaching Boot Camp.
The conference begins with lunch on Monday and concludes early Wednesday afternoon. Registration is $95. Spouses and/or additional registrants from the same church may register for $75. The registration fee includes all conference sessions, materials, lunches and refreshment breaks. Campus housing is available for $20 per night.
Duduit said the importance of preaching in the work of the church makes an event like Preaching University critical to helping pastors develop their gifts. “God has called us to preach so that through us he can change lives,” Duduit said. “That means it is essential that we seek to become more and more effective in carrying out that calling.”
The annual conference is sponsored by Anderson University’s College of Christian Studies, with support from the South Carolina Baptist Convention and Preaching magazine.
