Saluda Baptist Church in Saluda celebrated its 50th anniversary Dec. 2. The church held its first worship service Dec. 1, 1968, in the administrative building of the local school district. Approximately 75 families constituted the original congregation, which today has nearly 600 members. The current worship center was built in 1979. Saluda Church is a member of Ridge Baptist Association.
