Worshipers at Taylors First Church pray during a 9/11 service.

Like many other churches across South Carolina, Taylors First Church held a special worship service on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 to remember those who died on that date in 2001 and to honor local military service members and first responders.

The Taylors service was held outside and attracted 3,400 people.

“The service was meaningful to Taylors in many ways,” said pastor Paul Jimenez. “We saw a host of volunteers serve and engage with the lost and our community throughout the days and weeks leading up to the service.

“We were blessed to see 350 guests visit our campus that morning. But, most of all, the spirit of the church doing everything for the glory of Christ and the proclaiming of the simple gospel message was very moving. To see many people respond to follow Christ as a result was remarkable.”
