Cleatus Blackmon will retire on Oct. 31 after 13 years as director of missions for Greer Association. Blackmon and his wife Susan will be honored on Oct. 25 at the association’s annual meeting at Apalache Baptist Church.
BlackmonA native of Camden, he was pastor of Sandy Level Baptist Church in Blythewood for 17 years before becoming missions director in the Kershaw Association, where he served for four years before accepting the Greer position.
He is a graduate of North Greenville and Campbell colleges. He earned his master of divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary and the doctor of ministry at Southern Seminary.
He and Susan are parents of two children, Amy and Jonathan, and five grandchildren.
