Kenneth M. Newton, 83, a retired pastor, died Oct. 12, 2011.
He was pastor emeritus of Washington Baptist Church, Greer. He preached for 43 years before retiring in 1995, after which time he served seven churches as interim pastor.
Newton, a graduate of Furman University and Southeastern Seminary, was a military veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Parris Newton, three sons, a daughter, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, DeAlva Donaldson Newton, and by his second wife, Lucille Groce Newton.
