Natalie Jeffcoat and a team of volunteers from Camden First Baptist Church sponsored a spa day for the girls at the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. Their goal was to “show the girls beauty all the way through.” They provided a variety of spa and hair treatments, as well as food and dessert. In addition, each girl received her own journal to record personal thoughts and prayers. The spa day is a ministry of the Camden First Baptist Acteens and Women on Mission.

GAs and Acteens from Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Heath Springs, recently collected sports equipment and money for North American Mission Board missionaries Greg and Mia Pendarvis. The Pendarvises – who were the featured missionaries in GA World magazine during September – lead Victory Sports Outreach in Fort Mill, where they share the gospel through sports. The GAs of First Baptist Church, West Columbia, began the new church year with a “Christmas in August” mission drive. They collected items for Hannah House, a center for abused women and children in Columbia.


Earle Street Baptist Church, Greenville, held a Country Fair for state missions Sept. 25 at Butler Springs Park. The annual event, organized by the church’s WMU, included a picnic, bake sale, games, face painting and entertainment, all for the purpose of raising awareness and offerings for the Season of Prayer for the Janie Chapman Offering for state missions. The event helped the church to surpass its missions offering goal.

The congregation of Barker’s Creek Baptist Church, Honea Path, held a covered dish supper on Oct. 23 to honor pastor Wesley Taylor, who is pictured with Barker’s Creek children at the event.

The youth at Centenary Baptist Church, Marion Association, recently visited one of the church’s shut-in members, Annie Mae Rowell. They delivered a gift basket and flowers to Mrs. Rowell, and enjoyed listening to her stories about “the old times.” Pictured with Mrs. Rowell are her great-grandchildren, Dalton and Taylor Barron, and (standing) Chloe Thomasson, Jesse Lane, and Jake Lane.
