
The children’s missions groups of Berea First Baptist Church, Greenville, manned a “Lottie Moon post office” during the month of December to “do their part” for the Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions, raising a total of $551.75. The children and their leaders are shown presenting a check to interim pastor Rick Fisher, who accepted the gift on behalf of the congregation.

Marion Baptist Church, Marion, hosted a mission team from Taylors First Baptist Church the week of Jan. 2-7. The team helped put a new roof on the church’s youth building, painted the local clothes closet and helped with Habitat for Humanity homes in the area.

The youth from Shiloh Baptist Church, Marietta, attended the Strength to Stand conference in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., on Jan. 14-16. More than 600 students made professions of faith during the conference, which included two professions and one rededication from the Shiloh youth.

The GAs of Antioch Baptist Church, Edgefield, giftwrapped 135 seafarers’ hats to be sent to the Charleston seafarers’ ministry during December.

The children’s choir and the junior/youth choir of Cane Branch Baptist Church, Loris, presented the Christmas musical, “For the Glory of the King,” on Dec. 18. The production also included church members who reenacted the story of Jesus’ birth. The musical was directed by Desiree Day, Tennille Hardee, Natalie Huff, Renee Kratzer and Linda Johnson.

Sixty-four members from Anderson County churches held a planning meeting at Barker’s Creek Baptist Church, Honea Path, on Jan. 23 for the upcoming Rick Gage Crusade, scheduled for May 20-23 in Honea Path. Mike Moody (left), pastor of Honea Path First Baptist Church, closed the meeting in prayer.

The Acteens of Jonesville Baptist Church, in Union County Association, collected 62 blankets for the chemotherapy patients at the Cancer Centers of the Carolinas during Cancer Awareness Month in October. The girls delivered the blankets to the Spartanburg office and gave the first blanket to a patient from their hometown.

Gillisonville Baptist Church, Ridgeland, held a Lord’s Supper service by candlelight on Jan. 1 to celebrate the new year. Candles were placed in all the lighting fixtures of the sanctuary to recreate how the service might have looked when the church was originally built in 1836.

The senior citizens class at Glendale Baptist Church, Loris, recently donated eight sleeping bags and seven blankets to the Help 4 Kids organization, which provides assistance to homeless children in the Murrells Inlet area.
