BrowningMcNeal, a missional leadership specialist, and Paul (of 3 Dimension Ministries) will lead a workshop on launching missional communities, which McNeal defines as “groups of 20-50 on mission together to be the good news of Jesus in every crack and crevice of society.”
“The goal is for people to walk away feeling more equipped in doing missional communities in real life,” said McNeal.
Jason Hodges, minister of adults and leadership development at Taylors First Baptist Church, will return to SYNC with a message based on Tom Rath and Barry Conchie’s book, “Strengths-Based Leadership.”
“Discovering your leadership has everything to do with discovering your strengths,” said Hodges. “Ultimately, you will never reach your full leadership potential unless you grow in your ability to recognize and capitalize on your strengths.”
Will Browning said, “Over the years, we have heard everyone from church growth leaders to seminary presidents tell us that church planting is the single most evangelistic tool under heaven. Lately, it seems this ideology has gained steam, and many more are climbing on the church-planting bandwagon.” Browning is pastor of Journey Church in Summerville and a North American Mission Board church planter.
Howard, CEO for ADDIE Solutions, will lead a workshop on the “12 Timeless Principles of Leadership,” and author/speaker Dave Edwards will challenge church leaders on “cultural engagement” with five questions Millennials are asking of student pastors and their ministries.
“Equipping pastoral leadership for the challenges of the future is a significant undertaking and a major reason CSU is giving time and attention to providing such a conference as SYNC,” said Rick Brewer, vice president of student affairs at CSU.
The South Carolina Baptist Convention is sponsoring two workshop luncheons included in the cost of the conference.
