BarnettCHARLIE BARNETT has joined the staff of Berea First Baptist Church, Greenville, as associate pastor in Christian discipleship and single adults.?Barnett, a native of Greenville, is a graduate of Clemson University and is a student at Gardner-Webb Divinity School.?He and his wife Julie have two children, Jesse and Jonah.
KEITH HARVELL was ordained to the ministry Oct. 23 by Calumet Baptist Church, Liberty, where he has served as minister of music and youth for 10 years.
RONNY BYRD recently resigned as senior pastor of Myrtle Beach Community Church, Myrtle Beach. Byrd was founding pastor of the church, which held its first service Dec. 6, 1992. A graduate of Furman University and Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Byrd served on the staffs at Ocean View Baptist Chruch, Myrtle Beach, and South Main Street Baptist Church, Greenwood, and was pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Oakway.
BART SMITH began duties Oct. 2 as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Jefferson. Previously, he was youth pastor and interim music director at Broad River Baptist Church, Blacksburg. He and his wife, the former Trudy Steele, have four daughters – Noel, Emily, and twins Melanie and Marie – and reside in Rock Hill.
WELDON SELLERS has been called as associate pastor/youth and education by Varennes Heights Baptist Church, Anderson. A graduate of North Greenville University, he was licensed to the ministry by Sisk Memorial Baptist Church, Fort Mill, and ordained by East Gaffney Baptist Church, Gaffney. He and his wife, the former Sandi Daves, also a graduate of North Greenville, have three children: Andrew, Aaron and Alex.
HunterDAVID HUNTER was licensed to the ministry Sept. 30 by Hillcrest Baptist Church, Dalzell. He attended Southwestern Baptist Seminary and has accepted a call as pastor of Monte Vista Baptist Church, Mountain Rest. He and his wife Becky are expecting their first child in December.
