
Students and adults from five Myrtle Beach-area churches – Surfside Beach First Baptist, Myrtle Beach First Baptist, Timberlake Baptist, Socastee Baptist, and Legacy – recently attended Disciple Now weekend. The theme was “Becoming: Finding My Identity in Christ.” Jeremy Garrett was guest speaker, and Anthony Johnson led the time of worship.


Four Conway-area churches – Juniper Bay, High Point, Grace and Maple – recently joined for a Disciple Now weekend. The event, which was for students in grades 6-12, included worship, Bible study, and mission projects around the city. White Oak Baptist Church, Greenville, held a special service on May 6 to honor Jeanie Lawrence, founder of the church’s weekday early education program. A flag and flagpole were placed on the school playground in her memory.

The combined choirs of First Baptist Church, Columbia, and Millbrook Baptist Church, Aiken, presented “God With Us” on May 5 at Millbrook. The Millbrook choir will travel to Columbia First Baptist in August for an encore performance.
