The congregation of White Springs Baptist Church, Lancaster, recently broke ground for Phase I of its family ministry center. The facility will include a conference/youth room, kitchen and 300-seat fellowhip hall. Paxville Baptist Church held its first prayerwalk Oct. 15 around the community of Paxville. The prayerwalk was led by pastor Mark Bishop, along with 11 members of the church. “We were praying over the community in preparation of our upcoming revival Oct. 23-26,” said Bishop, who hopes to make this a quarterly activity.

Good Hope Baptist Church, Iva, dedicated its worship/life center Nov. 13. John Dill, director of missions for Saluda Association, and former DOM Delano McMinn attended the celebration. The congregation held groundbreaking for the facility during homecoming October 2004.

In appreciaton of his dedication and service, Homer Hinson, pastor of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Hartsville, was presented the keys to a Lincoln Town Car as an early birthday present from the church.

Frances Miller was honored during a reception Oct. 9 by First Baptist Church, Batesburg, for 25 years service as ministry assistant. “The best part of being recognized was people taking time to come celebrate with me 25 years service to our Lord,” said Miller. On Oct. 23, Miller was recognized when the entire church family stood to show their appreciation as the pastor presented an engraved clock and monetary gift.

First Baptist Church, Lowrys, held pastor appreciation Oct. 30. Chairman of deacons Mack Stewart, center, presented a monetary gift on behalf of the church to pastor Den Parker and his wife Traci. Parker, who has served the church since October 2003, has been instrumental in developing plans and leading the members on mission trips to Mexico and West Virginia. He attends M. Christopher White Divinity School at Gardner-Webb University. Traci serves as church music director and assistant leader in the children’s department mission program.
