The South Carolina Baptist Historical Society presented its annual award for the outstanding bicentennial celebration to The Baptist Church of Beaufort. Glenn Clayton of the historical society made the presentation Nov. 16 at the annual meeting of the South Carolina Baptist Convention in Columbia. Harry Rowland, left, pastor of the Beaufort congregation, accepted the award. The church celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2004. A history of the church was also published as a part of the celebration.
