Dickard new DOM in Easley

Robert Dickard has begun duties as the new director of missions for Piedmont Baptist Association in Easley. He was elected unanimously at a called meeting of the association June 7.

Dickard, 62 and an Easley native, had previously served as director of missions for Chesterfield Association since 2004. At Piedmont Association, he succeeds Broadus Moody, who retired in July.

He holds a doctor of ministry degree from Andersonville Seminary and a master of divinity degree from Southeastern Seminary. He attended North Greenville College, Furman University and Limestone College.

His previous South Carolina pastorates include Eureka Baptist Church in Anderson, New Prospect in Inman, Bethany in Gaffney, Fairmont in Spartanburg, and Hunt’s Memorial in Greenville.

He has served as secretary of the South Carolina Baptist Pastor’s Conference and has served on the Executive Board of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. He is a past chairman of the SCBC’s Christian Life and Public Affairs Committee and currently serves as a trustee of North Greenville University.

He is married to Faye Carter Dickard. The couple has a grown daughter.
