Grace Hinson Watson, 80, of Lyman, died Aug. 4, 2012, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A native of Waterloo, she retired from North Spartan Baptist Association in 1996 after serving for many years in churches in Spartanburg, Aiken, and Chester counties, North Spartan Association, the South Carolina Baptist Convention and the North American Mission Board. She was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church.
She was named director-emeritus of South Carolina Baptist Disaster Relief Child Care. She received the E.A. McDowell Award for Exemplary Christian Service, North American Mission Board Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Volunteer Ministry through Disaster Relief, and the South Carolina Baptist Convention Disaster Relief Ministry Distinguished Service Award. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Choice E. Watson, four children, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
