‘Enduring to the End’ is theme for 2012 state Pastors’ Conference

The annual South Carolina Baptist Pastors’ Conference, with a lineup of speakers that includes evangelists Bailey Smith and Junior Hill, is set for Nov. 12 at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors.

The theme for this year’s meeting is “Enduring to the End,” based on 2 Timothy 4:7.

When the program begins at 10 a.m. on Nov. 12, Tom Tucker, senior pastor of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church in Fort Mill and president of Tom Tucker Ministries, will be the speaker. Closing out the morning session will be vocational evangelist Rick Coram, who heads up Rick Coram Ministries.

The afternoon session starts at 1:30 p.m. with preachers Josh Smith, senior pastor of MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church in Irving, Tex. He will be followed by his father, Bailey Smith, who has been president of the Southern Baptist Convention and the SBC Pastors’ Conference.

Jeff LaBorg, founder of Jeff LaBorg Ministries, will be the first speaker in the evening session, which starts at 6 p.m. Junior Hill, who has conducted more than 1,800 revivals and several foreign crusades, will bring the conference’s closing message.

Special music will be provided by vocalist Shelley Jennings, a worship leader, concert artist and song writer. She has served as part of the worship team for the Women of Faith conferences.

The primary item of business for the Pastors’ Conference will be the election of officers. The current president is Brad Goodale, pastor of Philippi Baptist Church in Union, who will preside over the meeting. Fort Mill pastor Tom Tucker has announced that he will nominate Dwight Easler for president. Pastor of Corinth Baptist Church in Gaffney, Easler now serves as vice president.
