As outgoing chairman of the Ministries for the Aging, I wanted to personally thank each of you for all you have done to make our ministry possible. This past year was filled with the precious memories of the generosity of our churches and many individual sacrifices. I want to thank the pastors for promoting the offering within each fellowship. Continue to do so this year. Each Mother’s Day offering is essential for the continued health of SCBMA.
This reminder: Keep our institutions in your prayers. Our institution, the colleges, the children’s home, the foundation and The Baptist Courier are led by some of the finest Christian individuals you would ever want to meet. Have these presidents in your church, promote them, encourage them, and most of all support these institutions. These institutions do more for the kingdom of God than we can ever measure in numbers and reports.
I want you to know that the SCBMA trustees firmly believe our two homes are stable and are making the necessary changes to create a bright future. This is a tough business, and we are working hard at doing everything correctly. You should be proud of the administrators and employees; they have been the real heroes this past year. Each employee made my task a lot lighter, and I thank you all for your assistance.
To our churches: Keep on giving. We will need a minimum of $750,000 this year. We are striving to pass last year’s offering of $1.2 million. My vision is clouded, I am sure, but I believe in you and know you can reach over a million again.
