Ginny Dent Brant, daughter of the late Harry Dent, who served Sen. Strom Thurmond and three presidents, spoke to students during Charleston Southern University’s chapel service Sept. 12.

She talked of growing up surrounded by politicians and attending White House dinners. Her father was a powerful man whose world fell apart when he was connected to the Watergate scandal. Dent was later cleared of Watergate-related charges but faced lesser charges regarding an employee who hadn’t reported a campaign donation.
Brant’s father became a Christian after she was grown. “My father shocked the political world when he left his political and legal career to enter full-time Christian ministry along with my mother in 1980,” said Brant.
Much of the Dents’ work was with underground churches in Romania, China and the Middle East. “We once thought the most important days of our lives were our days in Washington, D.C., but we found the most important days of our lives came after we bowed on bended knee to serve the King of kings,” said Brant. – CSU
