State CP giving behind budgeted needs

Two months into the fiscal year, Cooperative Program gifts from South Carolina Baptist churches were $311,848, or 6.56 percent, below budgeted needs.

Churches forwarded $1,929,931 to the South Carolina Baptist Convention in February and $2,508,221 in January, according to Pam Carroll, SCBC chief financial officer.

National CP giving was 0.08 percent below budgeted goals through February and 1.33 percent below contributions received during the same time frame last year.

Month-to-month swings reflect a number of factors, including the number of Sundays in a given month and the day of the month churches forward their CP contributions to the state convention.
