CP receipts within striking distance of projections

Year-to-date Cooperative Program gifts of $16,096,129 from South Carolina Baptist churches represented 96.82 percent of budgeted needs for the first seven months of 2014.

Churches forwarded nearly $2.8 million in CP gifts in July, according to a report released by Pam Carroll, chief financial officer of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Carroll also noted that CP giving was up $121,632 from the same period a year ago.

At the national level, CP giving was on a similar pace at 96.45 percent of budgeted allocations. Contributions exceeded $153 million through the first 10 months of the SBC fiscal year.

The Cooperative Program is Southern Baptists’ channel of giving through which a local church is able to contribute to the ministries of its state convention and to the missions and ministries of the Southern Baptist Convention with a single contribution to its state convention.
