Gill’s book is resource for discussing death with children

Linda Gill, a grief support advocate who was featured in a May 2014 Baptist Courier story, has released a book, “Mommy, What’s ‘Died’ Mean?” as a resource for parents to use when talking with their children about death.

Discussion questions are included for each story page to help determine how much the child understands. When little Dave’s grandfather died, the boy did not understand what “died” meant or where Grandpa had gone. The story traces a small child’s experience following a death in the family and illustrates how his mother sensitively answered his questions about death by using simple examples derived from the birth of a butterfly.

The story has been created especially for children from pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. The book can be ordered from Healthy Life Press at healthylifepress.com/i/292564/mommy-whats-died-mean.htm.
