Have you been blessed by giving to someone else?

Courier editor Rudy Gray tells the story of when he was a youth director at his home church and took a group of kids out for an evening of miniature golf and hamburgers at McDonalds.

Even though he’d told the teens to bring enough cash for the outing, one of the girls did not, and Rudy gave her some money. She enjoyed her burger and fries and had a great time with her friends at Putt-Putt.

The following Sunday, she came to him and showed him a red Bible. “I bought this with the money I had left over,” she said with excitement.

Time went by, and, years later, Rudy was preaching at a revival in a nearby town. After the service, a young woman came up to him and asked, “Do you remember me? I was the teenager you helped out by giving me money for a youth outing. I’ve never forgotten that, and I just wanted to thank you.”

“I was blessed that night,” he said. “I remembered her, but had not thought much about the gift for years.”
