Holland Avenue Baptist Church in Cayce recently called Augusta native J. Dow Welsh as pastor. He is the sixth full-time pastor in the history of the church.

A graduate of Clemson University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Welsh comes to Cayce after serving 19 years in the ministry, including six years at St. John’s Baptist Church in Greer. He and his wife, the former Karen Leigh Bledsoe, are the parents of four children: Bailey, Carter, Meredith and Holden.

Welsh succeeds former pastor Charles Wilson, who retired after 24 years of service. Ken Harmon served as interim pastor at Holland Avenue following Wilson’s retirement.
