Inman Mills honors longtime pastor Jack Hames

The congregation of Inman Mills Baptist Church, Inman, honored pastor Jack Hames and his wife, Dottie, on May 8 for 60 years in the ministry. Prior to his pastorate at Inman Mills, Hames served churches in North and South Carolina, including Northside Baptist in Rock Hill and Boiling Springs First Baptist.

Injured Army veteran speaks at Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church

Kevin Brewington, a soldier who was severely injured by a remotely detonated IED in Afghanistan, spoke May 15 at Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church in Union. Birthright of Columbia, a pro-life emergency pregnancy service, presented Congaree Baptist Church of West Columbia with the Dr. Herbert M. Black Memorial Award Feb. 16. Janie Pye, WMU director, accepted the award on behalf of the church. Hank Chardos, executive director and cofounder of Birthright, expressed his appreciation for Congaree’s “continued loving dedication and support.”
