Congaree Baptist Church recognized for support of pregnancy center

Birthright of Columbia, a pro-life emergency pregnancy service, presented Congaree Baptist Church of West Columbia with the Dr. Herbert M. Black Memorial Award Feb. 16. Janie Pye, WMU director, accepted the award on behalf of the church. Hank Chardos, executive director and cofounder of Birthright, expressed his appreciation for Congaree’s “continued loving dedication and support.”

Five Forks commissions 7 to Stephen Ministry

Five Forks Baptist Church, Simpsonville, commissioned seven on Feb. 21 to its Stephen Ministry, which provides assistance to hurting people in the congregation and community. Two of the church’s Stephen Ministers also received extensive leadership training during the past year.
