Woody Oliver has been called as director of missions for Savannah River Baptist Association. He previously served Harmony Baptist Church in Edgemoor and Woodfields Baptist Church in Greenwood. He has chaired the Nominations Committee and By-Laws Committee of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Oliver and his wife, Dena, have four daughters and three grandchildren.

A Simpsonville native, he is a graduate of North Greenville University and holds dual master’s degrees (church planting and intercultural studies), along with a doctor of ministry degree, from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
